Melissa Gamble and Linda Cooper were joined in Civil Union on September 9, 2000, in a ceremony held at the First Unitarian Universalist Society in Burlington. Roddy ONeil Cleary certified the Union. Standing up for the couple were Sharon Duffy and Charlotte Farmer. Jessica Gamble was the flower girl. Pictures were taken by Tracy Myers of New Hampshire. Following the ceremony, friends and family gathered at Paulines Restaurant in South Burlington for a dinner reception. The civil union was a follow-up to the couples commitment ceremony in September of 1992. *** Anne Coon and Kate Kearnan celebrated their Civil Union on Saturday, September 16 at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in St. Johnsbury, Vermont, with Revered Ann Hockridge performing the ceremony. Witnessing for the couple were Nancy Kennedy, Annes cousin, and Debbie Perron, Kates sister. Following the service, a reception/buffet was held at the Creamery restaurant in Danville, where an enthusiastic group of friends and relatives enjoyed a delicious assortment of food and picturetaking. This joyous event celebrated 21 years of partnership together. The happy couple looks forward to many more years of companionship in the wonderful state of Vermont. ***
Pam Kinniburgh and Sandy Reeks were joined in Civil Union on Saturday, October 14. The ceremony took place at No. 10 Pond in Calais, on the best day of the year, and was officiated by Henrietta Jordan, House Representative and JP. In a non-traditional ceremony that included waltzing, personal testimony, a spiral dance, and self-written vows, we shared our memorable day with family and many friends. Special thanks to the Dream Team (Patty, Emily, Anne, Melissa, Janie and Ross), the Wine Goddesses (Carol and Nancy), the ring-maker (daughter Nisa), the chef (son Eric), and David, Dee, Anneke, Catriona, and Freya for their invaluable contributions. We had a magical day. *** Steven J. Meyers, son of Nina Myers Holton of Richmond, Vermont and the late James T. Myers, and Don L. Church, Jr., son of Don L. Church, Sr. and Yvonne Church of West Paris, Maine were united in a civil union ceremony October 7, 2000. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Richard Forcier at the First Universalist Church in Barre. A reception was held at the couples home in Barre, Vermont, with guests attending from throughout Vermont, Maine, New York, New Jersey and Michigan. Sandra J. Meyers and her partner, Louise H. Sheldon, were the attendants of the service. Mr. Meyers, a native of Shaftsbury, Vermont, graduated from Mount Anthony Union High School and Lyndon State College. Mr. Church, a native of Saline, Michigan, graduated from Saline High School. The couple own and operate their own business, D.L. Church Construction of Ypsilanti, Michigan. *** |
