So Jealous
Tegan and Sara

Sanctuary/Vapor Records, 2004

Had your heart ripped out lately - or ever? Yeah? Well then check out this new effort from the Canadian twin folk-rock team of Tegan and Sara as they rock it from the introspective to the retrospective.
These sassy ladies from the north just put out their 3rd album, So Jealous on Sanctuary & Vapor Records. At first listen it sounds like whiney "broken-heart club" folk music, but when you take that second Ipod-uploaded listen you will start to take note of the smart songwriting from these twins. With 14 tracks in all, Tegan and Sara cover those timeless topics like, "what the hell makes a woman tick?," "why do you suck so bad?" and all those other seemingly "lesbianic" drama themes. Truth be told, these lyrics will ring for you no matter what team you play for.
From the first single, "Walking with a Ghost," to the title track "So Jealous," this album shows some artist maturity that was bound to occur for these young twenty-something gals.
Reminiscent of Indigo Girls gone grunge or riot grrl, Tegan and Sara "bring it" with that "family" appeal. Like most indie rockers they have developed quite the cult following, selling out shows across Canada fairly regularly. About to embark on a north-bound, early fall jaunt to support this new disc, they will be state-side by the time all hell breaks loose on Nov. 2nd. Check them virtually at www.teganandsara.com
