On Monday evening, the 31st of January, two OITM volunteers were called at home by a man posing as a gay reporter, demanding to know the location of our offices and if we received any public funding. Shortly thereafter the OITM.org website went down for 2 hours and 4 minutes.

By working with the web-hosting service provider, OITM.org returned to the web, and a trace was initiated to determine the cause. It appears the site was taken down by unknown individuals located in Fairfax, Virginia.

The caller ID used by the person posing as a gay reporter was traced to a VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) service located in northern Virginia.

Out in the Mountains contacted the publication that the imposter claimed to be writing for, and they had never heard of him.
